Krystal Shannan - FINDING HOPE - Cover Reveal! #pnr #romance #fantasy #greekmythology

Cover Reveal

Warning: The plot thickens with a passel of pissed off Olympians, but Ares and Aphrodite are in for a double dose of trouble! More Olympians join the mix in Finding Hope: Pool of Souls Book 2. A jewel addict, a kick-ass possibly-virgin huntress, and an insatiable ancient oracle are just a few. But don’t worry. Ares and Aphrodite are still front and center.

Addison Connelly has given up on men. She is disappointed yet again when her best friend tries to play matchmaker, and the match falls flat…or does it? Her friend knows all Addison needs is a chance, a little hope, and maybe a dropkick in the right direction. With an extra push from Aphrodite, will this lonely soul learn to trust again? Or will she run from the only man who could make her happy?

Adrian Colter, Nashville Police Detective and certifiable bachelor, puts his foot in his mouth in a big way when his roommate’s fiancé tries to match him up with her best friend. After making a horrible first impression, can he earn the trust of a woman who won’t speak a civil word to him?

Adrian isn’t the only one trying to earn the trust of a beautiful woman. While Ares fights to rebuild the trust he lost thousands of years ago with the Goddess of Love, his parents do what they do best —show off their greed and selfishness. Will he find the hope and forgiveness he so desperate seeks or will his parents destroy his chance at happiness?

Open House by Krystal Shannan

A little bit about Krystal....

I was born in Arlington Texas and still call it home. I love Texas. The bipolar weather changes. The scathing heat in the summer, and the tease of a winter we sometimes get. I could do without the tornadoes, but I guess they are better than hurricanes or earthquakes.  At least you can sorta run from a tornado, LOL.

I’ve been writing stories since I learned how to read. My mother still has boxes of stuff I wrote as a kid. I’ve been writing romance since late high school, so…. More than a decade. LOL. I’ve always considered myself a writer. It’s always been cathartic and a great way for me to relax. Over the last few years I’ve really considered how to make writing more of a career.

I did an interview a little while ago with the fabulous Aine P. Massie and she asked me this question. It was so much fun I just had to share.

I love reading the warnings on the blurbs for many books. If you could write a warning label for yourself as a person or an author, what would it say?

WARNING! The mind of this person resides in the gutter most of the time. Do not be surprised if it turns any normal person’s comment into a sexual innuendo.

I want to share a little bit about the novella OPEN HOUSE that I just released. It's the opening for my paranormal romance series call Pool of SoulsI actually had the title before I wrote OPEN HOUSE. It’s kinda a play on words I suppose. OPEN HOUSE has a conflict in an open house that Rebecca is showing and the novella is the opening or introduction to a series of Aphrodite’s stories. The message this series really plays into the theme of never giving up on looking for that special person to spend your life with.

Pool of Souls

Long ago the Titans ruled the world. When their children took power, most Titans were killed or banished forever. Aphrodite was the only Titan allowed to coexist on Mt. Olympus with the new greek gods and goddesses. She was allowed to stay, because like it or not, she could not be banished or killed without destroying the entire human race.

Before Gaia disappeared deep into a secret part of the earth, she brought Aphrodite out of the sea, creating her from a piece of her murdered husband. She connected her daughter to humanity so intrinsically that Aphrodite could never be lost. Her precious daughter would be treasured and revered by humanity for all eternity as the Goddess of Love.

Aphrodite balances human love and passion. Her mother gifted her with the ability to track soul mates through the centuries and guide the immortal souls of humans to their eternal mates. Gaia also gave her a special pool to house and keep the soul mates safe.

Krystal Shannan's - The Next Big Thing!

The Next Big Thing

I was invited to participate by the fabulous

Angela Rose@

What is the working title of your book?

Open House: Pool of Souls Book 1

Buy Links:

Amazon ~ Smashwords ~ All Romance  ~ Kobo

Where did the idea come from for the book?

My fascination for ancient Greek and Roman history!

What genre does your book fall under?

Paranormal/Contemporary Romance

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

Robert Corvin
Rebecca Carol
Aphrodite
ARES - God of War

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

Will divine intervention help or hinder Robert and Rebecca's second chance at love?

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

Self-Published

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Three weeks!

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

Possibly PC Cast's Goddess of the Spring or Goddess of the Rose.

Who or what inspired you to write this book?

I gravitate toward 'meant to be' and Aphrodite, so when the idea that Aphrodite was in charge of making sure souls that were 'meant to be' found each other, even if it took centuries... I was off and writing!

What else about you might pique the reader's interest?

Whether it's in a contemporary setting or in a book filled with goddesses, fae, shifters, and magic. Love and Destiny can be found everywhere in my writing.

So far, I've written and published the first book in my Pool of Souls Series - Open House. Open House is the first book in a paranormal series about the matchmaking goddess Aphrodite.

I've also written a holiday contemporary that will be releasing from Decadent in time for Christmas 2012.

Two more series are in the works. This Christmas you will see Vegas Mates, but it's still in the "hush, hush" phase right now. Join my newsletter and you will be among the first to hear about it. Next summer The Elder Blood Trilogy will launch. I'm super excited about all these paranormal romances novels. I think they mix just enough reality with fantasy to make it really interesting.

Why should you read my books?  Well, if you enjoy romance and the 'meant to be' you've come to the right place. If you don't like romance... I don't have much to offer you. Sorry! But, if you like fabulous love stories, alpha males, sexy werewolves, fae, dragons, magic and more! I've got that in spades.

Just a little about me.... Well, I was born, raised, and currently live in TEXAS. I am married to a wonderful man who supports my dream of writing and allows me to spend many evening and weekend hours glued to my laptop. During the day I moonlight as an elementary music teacher. In addition to a doting husband, a young daughter is also part of the picture and keeps us both hopping! An ornery little Welsh Corgi completes our household.

Happy Reading,
Happy Writing,
Krystal Shannan

Aphrodite from OPEN HOUSE swings by for a visit!

Aphrodite walks into the interview room. She twirls a finger through her long curly auburn tresses. Twinkling ice blue eyes and a friendly smile meet the gaze of Krystal Shannan.

Copper beads dangle from her ears and wide bands of engraved copper clink on her wrists. White denim leggings, brown leather high-heeled stiletto boots, and a sparkling champagne colored tunic finish off the Vogue worthy ensemble.

Aphrodite: Thank you for having me over today, Krystal.

K. Shannan: I super excited you came by. I poured a glass of your favorite.

Aphrodite: Mmmmm. Thank you.

She sits down on the chair facing Krystal.

K. Shannan: Could you tell us a little about the book?

Aphrodite: It’s about a young couple, Rebecca and Robert, who missed their first chance at bonding. They are soul mates and it takes some intervention on my part to get them where they are supposed to be. I don’t usually like to interfere on the mortal realm, but Ares left me no choice.

K. Shannan: Tell us a little about Ares. I know you and he have a history.

Ares, the God of War, is a complicated situation. We had a relationship and then he ruined it and now…. I don’t know…. I think he is trying to piece it back together. He’s certainly making a valiant effort, but we’ll just see. I’d rather not get into details at this time.

K. Shannan: Do you want to share a little about soul mates?

Aphrodite: Of course. You know your soul is immortal, right? Well, now you do. Most humans refuse to believe such nonsense, no scientific proof and all. Well, they are wrong. Your souls live lifetime after lifetime, always looking for their mate. Once two souls have joined as mates, they are together for the rest of eternity. When one dies, it will wait until it’s mate dies and then they will reincarnate together in the same decade so they can be together again. Joined souls are drawn to each other like magnets, once joined it would take an act of a god to separate them. Believe me, that is not a pleasant experience.

K. Shannan: I'll take your word for it.

Aphrodite: Souls that are looking for their mate, but haven’t found them yet, are also drawn to each other, but the pull is not nearly as strong. That is where I come in. I assist with that little extra push to make sure the soul mating is complete. Of course that assistance only happens when I have physically meet the person the soul resides in. I must touch the soul to be able to track it. Needless to say, you might meet me at a local wine festival and not even know it. *wink* I love wine festivals. Dionysus and I have a long-standing partnership.

K. Shannan: Why are the souls so important to you?

Aphrodite: I’m connected to them and them to me. When souls ache, I ache. When souls are joined I am refreshed. It is a symbiotic relationship. One cannot exist without the other.
Mother Gaia gave me a gift no other Titan received. I am linked to humanity in a way that can never be broken and the other gods have never been pleased by that fact. It keeps me stronger than any of them. All the other Titans were banished or killed, but they cannot get rid of me without getting rid of the human race. And that would just be stupid. The Olympians are not stupid. Petty and vindictive, yes, stupid…. No.

K. Shannan: Several people have asked why you say you are a Titan. Most people think of Aphrodite, Goddess of Love, as an Olympian.

Aphrodite: There is an Olympian named Aphrodite, but she is not the Goddess of Love. Zeus named his daughter after me to irritate me. *hiss* Which it did. That sniveling little cheerleader called a goddess deals in physical lusts and instant attractions. Superficial passions, I suppose you could call it. She has nothing to do with actual love and true human passion.

K. Shannan: What do you like to do when you aren’t helping souls?

Aphrodite: *Huge grin* I love fashion. I subscribe to every human fashion magazine I can find. Dionysus teases me, but I love clothes. We may be gods, but we can definitely appreciate many human conveniences –coffee, clothing, chocolate. I just joined social media, too. I was tired of being told I needed to join the twenty-first century. You can visit me at my FaceBook fan page, Aphrodite – Pool of Souls Series, for all kinds of updates and musings.

K. Shannan: Thanks again for coming by today. It's been so nice chatting with you today. Readers, Aphrodite has graciously offered to answer questions. So please ask away.

In the meantime we have a little excerpt to share with you......

Intrinsically woven into the fabric of human existence, Aphrodite, Titan Goddess of Love and Passion, dedicates herself to matching soul mates.

Rebecca Carol and Robert Corvin missed their original chance to bond when Ares, God of War, took control of Robert's career ten years ago. Their souls have naturally pulled them back together for a second chance at love, but... How far will the gods go to get their own way?

A deep male voice boomed through her garden, breaking her concentration. “Aphrodite!” The images of Robert and Rebecca swirled and were lost as the pool’s surface went clear. She turned to face the irate male.
“Ditee! Why can’t you just leave well enough alone?”
Aphrodite leaned against the cool rock and gave him a lazy smile. She’d expected Ares to complain. Robert Corvin played a key role in research and weapon development for the United States. No human got into his position without a little shove from the god of war.
“I will do exactly as I wish, especially when it comes to souls who have searched as long as these two have.”
“He’s mine, Ditee. I’ve finally got him where he will be of most use, and now I hear he has moved. Because of a girl! I knew it was your fault. Hands off.” His eyes flashed red, and a deep growl rumbled from his chest.
Aphrodite rose to face him. Her power rose and flamed within her, causing her skin to glow white. Ares took a step back. “You will not speak to me so rudely,” she said, her voice taking on its godly attributes, booming across the garden like a sonic wave. Ares stumbled a little from the force. “I am your superior. These souls deserve to be together, and you will not interfere.”
“The hell I won’t.”

Krystal Shannan's Stop on the Alpha Male Blog Hop

Alpha Male Blog Hop is here!!!

What kind of hero do you like?

Sexy, delicious, alpha heros! What could be better than that?

So for me... I like tall, dark hair, deep brown eyes, maybe a little five-o-clock shadow and abs you can bounce a nickel off! Can I mention the abs again, they are superbly important. I also like a Dominant personality with a streak of kink :-)

I'm pretty sure I just described the hero in my new book, LOL.

This is a superbly fantastic day for me. On top of the blog hop, my very first book releases today!

Want to meet the hero of Open House: Pool of Souls?

Here he is! Meet Robert Corvin. Isn't he just scrumptious? Well, Rebecca thinks so too. So don't get too handsy *wink*. Here's a couple of my favorite snippets.

***

Rebecca opened the bag of takeout and handed Robert his box of lo mein while she went looking for her edamame and salt. She grabbed a mini eggroll and popped it into her mouth. The fried crispy pork and veggie flavors were heaven in her mouth. She moaned in satisfaction. The beans were at the bottom of the sack. She pulled out the box and popped open the little container of salt.

“Good?” Robert asked before shoveling a bite of noodles into his mouth.
“Delicious. Want one?” Rebecca held out another mini egg roll. Robert shook his head. She shrugged and popped it into her mouth as well. He chuckled.
“What if I changed my mind?”
“It’s too late now, genius; I swallowed it.” Rebecca laughed and broke open an edamame bean. She licked the salt off the pod and sucked the three little soybeans into her mouth. When she glanced up from her food, she couldn’t help but smirk. Robert had frozen in place, chopsticks midway to his mouth, and was just watching her eat. His brown eyes had darkened, and he was looking at her as though she were dinner instead of the lo mein.

Rebecca raised herself up on her elbows and tried to look through the opening into the dining room, but he was out of sight. She could hear bags rustling and smiled when he returned with the comforter set they had picked out for the master bedroom.
“I think this will do quite nicely.” His huge, adorable grin made her insides melt. She nodded and sat up on the edge of the counter. He gazed at her, his eyes sweeping from the tips of her toes up to her eyes.
Rebecca started when he grabbed her suddenly and gently threw her over his shoulder. His arm was wrapped around her bare thighs, while his hand rested very casually on one cheek.
“Robert!”
“Yes, Rebecca?” He continued walking through the kitchen and then into the living room. She shook her hair from her face and saw the comforter bag swinging from his other hand.
“How is it that I am completely naked while you haven’t shed even one stitch of clothing?”
“Because you were dinner, Rebecca.”
A snort escaped, mixing with her laughter. “Remind me to have dinner with you more often. I have been missing out.”
     “You? What about me?”
