Krystal Shannan Features - Dangerously Mine by A.M. Griffin @AMGriffinbooks

Guest Blog:  A. M. Griffin

I’m excited that my debut book Dangerously Mine is finally available from Ellora’s Cave.
When I first began to write Dangerously Mine I never intended it to end up as an erotic romance. My intentions were to craft the perfect science-fiction world with characters that the readers could relate too and in situations that wouldn’t seem too farfetched to grasp.
One afternoon, while sitting in front of my laptop, one of my characters had another idea and developed a mind of her own. How could this happen, you ask? Well, I’m what would be called a ‘pantser’ in the writing world. My characters have free reign about what they will say and what they will do. There’s no plotting involved, when the mood strikes me I write and my fingers fly.
In this particular scene Eva my heroine goes up against the alien Princess Sa’Mya. Eva has given Princess Sa’Mya the nickname of ‘Bitch Princess’ which is fitting, because, well, Sa’Mya is a bitch.
Princess Sa’Mya was trying to figure out what King Taio (her betrothed) sees in Eva. During her inspection of Eva things took an unexpected turn…

Dangerously Mine

After aliens invade and conquer Earth, Eva is transported to a distant slave trading planet. Escape and freedom are her only priority, but none of her martial arts training prepared her for what she faces. She finds herself enslaved to the warrior King Taio. Eva’s drawn to this sexy alien male who ignites her heart and body.

Taio is disgusted with the idea of owning a slave—until now. From the moment he sees her, he knows Eva is his for the taking. Torn between lust and duty, Taio knows nothing will stop him from protecting his little warrior.

Excerpt: (18 years +)
“I wonder what he sees in you,” Sa’Mya said.
She leisurely skimmed the water’s surface with her fingertips. Recognizing a rhetorical question when she heard one, Eva didn’t respond. “I am offering him all of this.” Sa’Mya ran her wet hands down her voluptuous body.
Her double-D breasts hung ripe and full. Her neatly tapered waist led to full-sized hips, a round ass and, of course, long, shapely legs.
“You have the body of a child.” Sa’Mya sneered.
I could apply a small amount of pressure to her windpipe.
Clearly the princess didn’t know anything about fighting. Talking smack while your back is to an opponent was a no-no.
“It’s clear he can’t keep his hands off you. I smell your scent on him every time he comes near me. Gads. When does he not have his cock in you?”
Eva chuckled. That was her intent, to mark Taio with her scent, hoping all the other females would get the idea and go home.
Sa’Mya whipped her head around to face Eva. “Let’s see who’ll have the last laugh when I bond with him.” Sa’Mya smiled. “I think I’ll give you to the guards, to do with as they please.”
Eva straightened on the ledge. “He’ll never share me with anyone else.” Eva met her eye for eye.
“You think not?” Sa’Mya pushed off the ledge with a malicious smile across her lips. She turned around to stare at Eva. “You’ll never be able to compete with me.”
“I’m not trying to compete with you.” Bitch.
Sa’Mya took a step closer, her eyes downcast. “What does he find so interesting down there?”
Eva snapped her knees together.
“Let me see.” Sa’Mya demanded.
“No.” Eva swung her legs around to propel herself to a standing position.
“Make one more move and I’ll have you taken to the guards right now.”
Eva stopped, her legs propped on the ledge. “Taio wouldn’t let you.” But unfortunately he wasn’t here right now.
“Of course.” Sa’Mya tilted her head. “He would be upset if his precious royal guards ran through his pet.” She shrugged. “But then the damage would have already been done. Wouldn’t it?” Sa’Mya’s unblinking, gold-speckled eyes rested on her.
Eva froze. This bitch was crazy enough to follow through on her threat. Eva wasn’t worried that the guards would rape her. She would kill anyone who tried. It was Taio she worried about. She didn’t want to cause any more trouble between her and the guards.  Eva lowered back onto the ledge, dangling her legs in the water.
Sa’Mya sauntered forward until she was standing in front of Eva, putting a hand on her knees. She pried her legs open slightly. Sa’Mya squinted and focused on the nest of dark curls.
“It looks normal. Is there something about it that would appeal to him more?”
Another rhetorical question, Eva kept her mouth shut. Sa’Mya trailed her hand from Eva’s knees to her folds, parting them with two fingers.
“What exactly are you looking for? If you haven’t noticed, I’m a female.”
Sa’Mya ignored her. “What is this?” Sa’Mya pointed to her nub that jutted out from between her exposed folds.
“It’s called a clit.”
“What does it do?” Sa’Mya placed a finger on it.
Startled, Eva jumped. “It doesn’t do anything.” She flicked Sa’Mya’s finger out of the way. “All human females have one, it enhances sexual feelings.”
“I want a better look. Spread your legs wider.”
“They’re wide enough,” Eva ground out. She had as much as she was taking from the bitch princess. The inspection was more extensive than Taio’s.
Sa’Mya dug her nails into the skin of Eva’s knees. “Either you can open them or I’ll have one of the guards hold your legs open for me.”
Eva thought on it for a second. This was embarrassing enough.
Oh how I want to kill this bitch.
“When Taio left me in your care, I highly doubt this is what he had in mind,” she said.
Sa’Mya’s nails dug deeper into her flesh. “Take it up with Taio when he returns.”
Oh and I will.
She opened her legs.
Sa’Mya smiled triumphantly. “A clit, you said? What an odd name.” Sa’Mya inspected the little nub. “How does it ‘enhance sexual feelings’?” The tip of Sa’Mya’s finger ran across the nub again.
“Nerves, it’s got nerves in it,” Eva said through clenched teeth. “And it’s very sensitive.”
Sa’Mya pointed and eyed Eva’s slit, tilting her head to the side. “Look there, such a tiny opening for such a large male. When he fucks you, does it hurt?”
Surprised, Eva asked, “Have you ever been with a male before?”
Sa’Mya closed her eyes. “Slave, did I give you permission to ask me questions?”
I am going to kick this bitch’s ass.
Opening them again, Sa’Mya slid her thumb inside Eva’s sheath.
Eva jumped back. “You’ve gone too far. What do you think you’re doing?”
“I want to know what makes you so special.” Sa’Mya leaned in closer and pushed her thumb deeper inside. “This is too tight. He must be huge, how does it fit in here?”
Nope. This nut is definitely a virgin.
“It just does.”
Satisfied with her probing, Sa’Mya put her hands on Eva’s knees, spreading them wider. She kneeled on the submerged bath bench, her nose inches from Eva’s pussy.
Sa’Mya leaned in closer and inhaled sharply. “Maybe he’s attracted to the smell. It is quite intoxicating.”
Sa’Mya had spent the better part of the day using her. So she shouldn’t feel guilty about what she was about to say.
“He likes the taste.” Nope, no guilt at all.
“What did you say?”

Enjoy! Griffin

Excerpt Knowing Thyne:
Adison smiled as she grabbed the keys from the counter and drug her wheeled suitcase behind her. She had started planning her sixth anniversary only several months after she and Thyne celebrated their fifth.
She’d booked the exact same hotel as last time. Why not? It held some great memories.
Smiling, she remembered the fun and excitement of the last time they were at the hotel. Would Thyne expect the same thing? They’re relationship had flourished since their getaway. And, to her surprise, Thyne hadn’t mentioned a desire to be with another man.
That had been her anniversary gift to Thyne. After five years of marriage, he’d never told her that he was bi. She had assumed it for a while and then suddenly, she had just been positive. It caused her to invite a beautiful gay man named Seth into their anniversary suite.
Even now she could feel herself getting wet remembering Seth and Thyne together.
Hurriedly, she deposited the suitcase into the trunk where Thyne had put his that morning. Always a workaholic, he wouldn’t take the Friday off to start the weekend away early. He had said that his work ethic was why they could take these getaways.
Smiling to herself, she headed back in. Wheels crunched on the driveway. She turned and watched Thyne pull up to the house. Maybe he was looking forward to the weekend as much as she.
****
Adison could tell Thyne was anxious from his chipped greeting and speedy shower.
Much as the previous year, they were silent on their drive to the hotel, simply holding hands. Check in was also went much the same and Adison was pleased to see Thyne’s reaction to the same suite.
“How did you manage the same room?”
“I booked it three months after we were here,” Adison replied with a smile.
When they entered the room, in yet another repeat of their first visit Thyne asked, “Want to go down to the beach before dinner?”
She smiled and shook her head.
“So then, tell me, Adison, what do you have planned for our weekend this time?” Thyne had an amused look on his face, as though knowing her reply would be to bypass the beach once again.
"Oh hell." Adison tossed her hands in the air. "You know I wanted to wait a bit to get into this part. If you think for a minute I can top last year, you’re going to be very disappointed. You know, you’ve not mentioned wanting to be with another man either. Nor have your brought up Seth.”
Adison watched Thyne for some kind of reaction. No matter what she thought she might see, it wasn’t there. He simply sat waiting for her to continue speaking.
Reaching into her bag, she pulled out the strap on she had brought with her last year. They’d never used it.
“Remember this, Thyne? And how I asked if you’d let me use it on you?”
He gave a slight nod.

Excerpt Having Thyne:
This was the weekend. Tonight she and Thyne would go away for their fifth wedding anniversary. Well, not really away as in exotic location, something had to be saved for their tenth anniversary, but to a beautiful resort hotel about an hour from home. She had them both packed and was ready to enjoy it. Would her surprise be too much?
After what seemed like forever, Thyne finally arrived. Adison had played this out in her head over and over. Now that the time was here, she was nervous. As he loaded their luggage into to the trunk she occupied her mind with different versions of how the weekend might play out. Would he enjoy her surprise?
Suddenly, this weekend gift looked like a huge risk.
Though they held hands all the way to the hotel, they rode in silence. Could her husband feel her panic? Or was it guilt? Was she doing the right thing?
Once in their suite, Adison relaxed. The view was breathtaking. The beach was stunning with its crystal clear blue water. The hot summer weather was perfect, a light breeze flowing into their room from the open balcony doors.
“So, what do you want to do first? Go down to the beach for a swim before dinner,” Thyne asked, snapping her from her enjoyment of the view.
“No, I don’t think so. Maybe in the morning, a day on the beach sounds nice.” Adison’s reply was deep with thought. She fidgeted within her suitcase simply moving items back and forth, even though there was nothing she needed. How would she start the evening?
“Alright then. So, what is it that you do want to do? Maybe we could go to dinner and have an early night?”
Thyne's brow creased with his confusion. He had her number. That was certain. Normally she’d be dragging him to the beach to get the sand under her feet. She loved the beach; the sand, the sun, the water, time slowing down.
“Thyne, take off your clothes.”

Krystal Shannan Interviews - Jewels Moss

Jewels Moss

Jewels Moss is a published author of science fiction books, and paranormal romance novels. She keeps her true identity a secret because it is fun to be Jewels. This is why she created her for her naughty side. She enjoys writing erotica; especially if she can create erotica from a story you wouldn't expect it from. Her works include The Siren's Song, Naughty Tales, and the soon to be released Why Yellow Jackets can't find the Hole. She enjoys being an author with Midnight Hour Publishing.

Did you always want to be an author?
No, I actually didn’t know this was my passion until I got a job writing for a website, and realized I liked it.

What is your favorite part of being a writer/author?
Coming up with stories and creating worlds. It is fun when they take on a mind of their own.

Tell us a little about your books.
The Siren’s Song is a first in a series of erotic shorts about three sisters. The sisters are Siren’s and daughters of the devil. Their purpose in life is to collect souls for their father’s army.
The first in the series is about Celeste and what happens when she likes one of the men she is supposed to kill.

Naughty Tales:
Six steamy fairytales for adults. A virginal princess unwillingly stumbles into a magical land where a knight with a giant appetite for life is waiting to seduce her. Will she stay in his mad world of debauchery and sin, or go back to her wholesome life as the princess of her people? Find out in Naughty Tales!

The Siren’s Song:
Celeste is a Siren, the spawn of Satan, and only in this world to do one thing. That one thing is seduce men to kill them and send their soul to her father. She has been good at this job for thousands of years. One day a man sails into her clutches that she doesn't want to let go, she has never felt passion and desire as she does when she kisses him. Too bad he has to die.
William is a young man on a great adventure. A lovely song makes him break his course and to his men's shock he dives into the ocean to go searching for it. What he finds is a gorgeous and mysterious woman who he desires more than any lady he has ever set his eyes upon. She has a secret though, and when he finds out he will want to run or swim for his life.

Excerpt for Naughty Tales:
Princess Bernadette had not yet known the touch of a man. Well truthfully she had been touched a little just not in the way where you lose your virtue. To her parents and her kingdom however she was as pure as the mountain snow, and she aimed to keep it that way. She liked to go for walks in the woods near the castle to clear her mind, and relax after a strenuous day of lessons, and activities her parents thought she needed to stay busy with. One particularly ordinary afternoon she was walking through the woods when a strange light caught her eye. There in the middle of the woods was some type of orb that was a bright brilliant orange. She was not one to go poking things she did not know about but this particular orb looked very intriguing. She found herself drawn to it, and certainly thought it must be some type of magic. Part of her wanted to turn away as the allure of the unknown both excited and terrified her. She was pulled towards the light and even reached out to touch it. When she did her arm disappeared inside of it, and she felt something brush against her arm. She jerked her arm back and started to run away, but curiosity got the best of her and she stuck her head in. She was shocked by what she saw and thought she better get back to her castle when she toppled over and landed right in the middle of the madness.

Excerpt for The Siren’s Song:
William breathed in the crisp sea air and looked around at the men on his boat. Nothing made him happier than sailing on the open sea. It was a beautiful day and the people would be pleased with all the goods he was bringing them. He felt alive and free when he was on the ocean. His father wanted him to stop traveling and take over the company. He could not picture a life behind a desk. William loved adventure.
The Captain of the ship sighted an island to the right of them, and William followed his gaze thinking it looked quite beautiful.
"Perhaps we will stop and explore it on our way home gentlemen." It looked untouched, and there was nothing William enjoyed more than a new discovery.
The song was faint at first, and William thought he had imagined it. It was beautiful and sweet. It was unlike anything he had ever heard. It surrounded him and filled him with joy and longing. He looked around at the other men to see if they had heard it, but they were going about their business. Walking over to the side of the boat he leaned a little over the side to see if he could hear the song clearer.

When did you start writing and when did you finish your first book?
I finished my first book last year, and I have always written a little here and there.

Where do you get your inspiration?
From reading, writing other stories, and sometimes the plot just comes to me out of nowhere.

Do you plot and outline or do you just write?
I just stare at the blank Word document and just go for it.

Plotter or Pantser?
Pantster for sure, I just start and go!

Can you tell us a little about the process of getting your first book published?
The first book I published wasn’t under Jewels and I sent it to a small publisher, she liked it and published it. Much simpler than some people’s journeys.

What book have you most recently released?
Naughty Tales and The Siren’s Song came out at the same time.

What was your favorite part of the book?
When the Siren’s lover makes his decision to live.  My favorite story in Naughty Tales is The Woodman and the Serpent.

Rate your story in terms steaminess?
Like a 9.5 on a 10 point scale

Do you have another book in the works?
I do! Why Yellow Jackets Can’t Find the Hole will be out December 15th with Midnight Fire. I am excited about this release!

What advice would you give new authors?  What have you learned about the business?
I think that it is best if you make friends with people who can give you advice, and try to get a following of people by being a person, not just constantly hounding them to buy from you.

Boxers or Briefs? Boxers
Pizza or hamburger? Pizza
Beer, Wine, or mixed drink? Mixed Drink

If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be?  Would you write or read there, or do something else?
The beach anywhere, I am not hard to please. The best place is where I can relax and I would write and read there.

Where to find you @

Excerpt:
Oh, come on! Her body whimpered. He stood there in black boxer briefs that hugged the tight cheeks of that ass she knew so well. In a tickling fit, she had bitten the right cheek playfully and the noise he had made was so hilarious that it had sent her into a fit of giggles. His lean waist grew into a broad, muscled back. She remembered feeling the shift and bunch of those muscles beneath her fingers, digging into the skin with her nails as he thrust powerfully above her.
He turned and went still when he saw her. His brown eyes held hers for what felt like a breathless eternity. She couldn’t speak, couldn’t look away.
Alessandro took a step towards her, and Bree jerked backwards, coming up painfully against the refrigerator door handle. He winced and moved to her side.
“Are you all right?” He asked, his fingers rubbing the sore spot in the center of her back.
Bree moaned in reply and shifted her body without thought so that his fingers lowered to the small of her back. He pressed there, bringing her body closer to him as a result.
“There?” he asked pressing in firm slow circles.
She nodded silently, feeling too good to ruin it with pesky things like arguing with him and remembering that she didn’t want him to touch her.
“I imagine carrying a baby is hard on your spine, eh?” He whispered, his breath caressing the top of her head.
“Mmm,” she said.
“Here,” he turned her around so that she was facing the wall and moved both hands to her hips, using his thumbs to massage his way upwards along the small bones of her spine.
She practically purred at the luxurious feeling, swaying a little bit so that she fell against him. She felt a very hard bulge against the cheeks of her ass and the memory of his hips snapping with relentless speed against her filled her pussy with wetness and her heart with want.
And her head with panic.
Bree pulled herself away from his fingers and jerked away from his body. Her blood raced and if her face was as flushed as Alessandro’s was, he knew what she had been remembering because he’d been recalling it too.
He lowered his head and shook it from side to side, giving her a rueful smile. “I find it so ironic that someone I think of as sometimes so brave to the point of stupidity could be so terrified of her own happiness,”
Bree felt the shot hit home, and she couldn’t look at him. She ran her finger along the marble topped of the island. “That’s ridiculous. Who in their right mind is afraid of being happy?”
“Someone who has lost too much,” he moved slowly towards her in gentle careful strides as if he was afraid of startling her.
Fair enough, she did tend to attack him when he tried to corner her, but for some reason, Bree just couldn’t tonight. The much too relaxing bubble bath must be making her sluggish.
“Someone who is so used to being told she caused too much pain to others to ever be worthy of happiness herself,”
Bree closed her eyes. “Shut up. Please, Alessandro.”
“No, darling,” A hand came up to cup her face. “I don’t dare shut up because you’re too important to me. What we feel is too important.” He tilted her head up to look at him. “My God, but you are the most exquisite thing I’ve ever seen. Don’t you know I would give up everything for you? Anything you wanted would be yours. Even my life, Brianna. I would willingly give up my life for yours. I love you that much,” he ran a thumb along her bottom lip. He lowered his head to hers. “We could be so happy, darling,” he gingerly kissed her, testing her.
Bree’s heart was too full of his words to stop him.
“I never feel half as alive as I do when I’m with you.”
He deepened the kiss for a moment, just enough to make her whimper when he withdrew. His hand moved to her breast, cupping it, running his palm against the too-sensitive nipple.
Bree felt heavy, drugged, open and wet…so wet.
“Let me make you happy, Brianna,” he sighed into her mouth, caressing the seam of her lips with his tongue.
Bree shook with the force of her need for him. Oh God, resisting him was so hard. He was so beautiful, so much stronger than she was, so determined.
And she didn’t feel half as alive when she wasn’t with him either.
She lowered her hand to the bulge in the tight material of his boxers, feeling the warm heat of his cock through the fabric.
Alessandro growled into her mouth and pinched her nipple with his thumb and forefinger.
“Yes…” she sighed arching backwards against the island, cold and hard compared to the warm solid body in front of her.
The only sound in the dark room was their breathing and the low hum of the refrigerator.
Alessandro gave a soft grunt of triumph before capturing her mouth for a thorough, devastating kiss that shook Bree all the way to her toes. His hands dug into her hips and he lifted her onto the island, pushing the robe up her thighs. Her breasts were closer to his mouth at this height, and he watched her eyes as he lowered the material of her robe off her shoulders, waiting for her to stop him. To say no.
Bree didn’t say no. She’d lived in a miserable fog for too long. It was as if Alessandro’s hands on her, his body on hers was the only thing that sent her blood pumping.
She bit back a cry when his mouth took her nipple with delicious, sinful determination. Her sleeping son briefly tickled the edges of her lust hazed mind, and Bree pressed her lips tightly to keep quiet. Her pussy opened greedily, waiting, demanding. Her legs locked around Alessandro’s waist, drawing him closer. He angled his hips so that his cock could rub against her center.
“Brianna,” he groaned against the damp skin of her breast as his hand moved down her swollen belly, caressing it for a moment. They both stopped when a soft flutter responded to his touch. Alessandro met her gaze. “How beautiful to feel one’s own child,” He dropped a kiss to her belly. “I can’t wait to meet you, my baby,”
Oh, God, he was killing her. Her pussy actually gushed a little at the sweet passion in his voice.
Bree wrapped herself in the warmth of his words and the love in his eyes.
At the considerable impediment, he had to pull back. His fingers caressed the soaked petals of her pussy, and he looked up at her hesitantly. “I’m not…sure…If I…well, is it gonna hurt the baby?”
“No. No it won’t. Please…” Bree sighed greedily for his finger to push into her.
He slid a finger into her, and Bree arched backwards so that she was practically laying on the island. He moved slowly, rubbing her clitoris in slow circles.
“Alessandro,” she sighed, putting all of her love and desire into that one name.
He gave a short chuckle as he pumped his finger. “It feels like I’m saying hello to him,”
Bree’s burst of laughter was choked off by the tight hiss of her approaching orgasm. “Oh…” she moaned then bit her fist to keep from crying out when his mouth joined his thrusting finger. He pulled his finger out right before she went over the edge, leaving her panting and desperate. His hands cupped her bottom, lifting her slightly to his mouth.
“Let me know if I’m hurting you,” he whispered before thrusting his tongue into her pussy.
She wished she could reach down and grab his head and keep him there forever, but then she was spinning and falling over the edge and using all her willpower not to scream.
His tongue fucked her with growing speed and his lips sucked at her as he pumped her with his mouth, making her nerves scream in delight.
You love him, you love him. Let yourself love him. Nothing else matters. Tell him you love him. Her heartbeat pounded out the words in quick relentless beat. Let the two of you fight your obstacles together.
“Alessandro, I…I…,” she shivered as panic warred with her soul.
He stepped back and gathered her up against him.
Still, Bree couldn’t say the words. So she did the next best thing, she eased her hand past the waistband of his boxers and ran her mouth along his jaw as she cupped his thick cock. “Your turn,” she whispered in his ear before motioning for him to help her off the island.

Krystal Shannan Features - Laura DeLuca

Laura DeLuca

Tell us a little about yourself.
In addition to being a young adult author, I am also a mom to four great kids, own a restaurant, and run a product review blog called New Age Mama. I live at the Jersey Shore and I love spending the summer on the beach. It’s the best place to write.
Did you always want to be an author?
I knew I was a writer for as long as I can remember. When I was in kindergarten, I wrote a book about bunnies getting married. When I was thirteen, I completed my first novel. I think writing is definitely in my blood, and I’ll probably die with a pen in my hand.
What is your favorite part of being a writer/author?
I love the fact that I’m never bored. No matter what is happening around me, there is always an interesting story going on in my head.
Tell us a little about your book.
Destiny is the story of witchcraft which is something that is very close to my heart. While most of the events in the book are exaggerated for entertainment, there is a basis in real pagan beliefs in many of the scenes.

Gabriella is a witch. The problem is, she doesn't remember. She repressed the memories of her powers years ago when her mother was murdered. Now, the warlock who was responsible for her mother's death has set his sights on Gabriella. He is determined to use her fear to turn her to the dark side of magick…even if it kills her. Her mother's spirit is reaching out to warn her, but even that she pushes away. Desperate to save her daughter, the spirit finds a male witch–one that just happens to be in love with Gabriella. Darron is more than willing to help but the two young witches will have way more to battle than just an evil warlock. There are overbearing jocks and petty rich girls who get tempers flaring and often set Gabriella and Darron at odds.
There is more to the story than Gabriella and Darron could even imagine. There are terrible secrets to be revealed, battles to be waged, and lives will be lost. Only after Gabriella and Darron both come to terms with who they really are, and open themselves up to the true meaning of magick, can they have any hope of fulfilling their destiny.

Gabriella and Darron thought their magickal battle was over when they defeated the evil warlock, Richard. When her Aunt Donna seeks Gabriella's help in rescuing her catatonic daughter from the Dark Coven, Gabriella discovers that her cousin holds a power within her that would be catastrophic in the hands of the evil witches. Gabriella's coven sets out on a journey that may be their last. Along the way, they meet new allies, face devastating treachery, and battle not only the Dark Coven, but the darkness within themselves. When Gabriella finally comes face to face with the cousin she never knew existed, her true destiny is unveiled, and the fate of the mortal world is in her hands.

Destiny Excerpt:
Her eyes scanned the room, from the pale blue sofa to the bloody dent in the wall. But she didn’t need her eyes to know Darron was there. Her heart sensed his presence before her eyes saw him lying in a heap on the ground. His body shuddered with occasional spasms, and even though he wasn’t fully conscious, his lips were twisted in a grimace of pain.
Uttering a gasp of surprise, Gabriella flew to his side. She knelt beside him, and choked back a sob as she took his hand in her own. She saw his chest rise and fall and was glad to know was alive, but she felt helpless as she watched his face contort in pain. She noticed something wet and sticky on her fingertips. She gently titled his head and saw a large gash that looked like it needed medical attention.  The skin around the gash was so deeply bruised it looked almost black.
 “Darron, what happened to you?”
He didn’t move or reply. Gabriella moved her hand from the cut on his forehead, and her fingers dripped with blood. She bit her lower lip with fear. She knew enough about head injuries to know that the wound could be serious. She grabbed a few tissues from a box on the coffee table, and tried to apply pressure to the wound, but it was useless. The tissues were soaked through in seconds.
“Darron?” She squeezed his hand, and fought back tears of fear and frustration.  “Darron, please open your eyes. Please be all right!”
He squirmed and groaned a little in response. Looking at his contorted features, Gabriella felt incompetent and useless. She didn’t know what to do to help him. The cut must need stitches. The blood was gushing through her fingertips, and she was sure his life was slipping away just as quickly.
More than anything, Gabriella wanted to help Darron, to end his suffering. Her thoughts, her desperation, caused something deep inside of her to stir. Something that had long been napping was awoken. The power she had fought so hard to deny was forcing its way to the surface. This time she didn’t struggle against that power. Her instinct to hide from it was finally overcome by the thought of losing someone else she cared about.

Gabriella was pulling strength and warmth from the earth, as though her legs were tree roots taking nourishment from the element. A tingling sensation began in the tips of her toes and spread slowly though her body as she breathed in the essence of the element of air.  Her blood flowed and grew warm, the element of water, bringing the power to the surface. She was overcome by a vigorous strength as she envisioned her spirit encircled by the element of fire. She felt so powerful that she thought she could stop the world from churning if that was what she wished. Gabriella focused the power, remembering for a moment her mother’s lessons. She looked down at her battered friend. She willed him to open his eyes and look at her. She demanded it of him.
Gabriella would have thought it was impossible, but she felt herself grow warmer. Her face dripped with perspiration. The power within her reached a climax. Then finally, when she thought she might burst, she felt the energy release. It seeped through her fingers, and shined with an illumination that only she could see. She heard herself chanting unfamiliar words, and scarcely recognized her own voice.
“By the power of earth, water, fire and air,
Heal this man who’s in my care.
Goddess, hear your daughter’s plea.
As I will it, so mote it be!”
Gabriella repeated the words three times. Three was the number of power. Then she watched as the wound on Darron’s forehead healed before her eyes, becoming smaller and smaller, until finally it was gone. The blood was still warm and sticky, but beneath the blood, the skin was smooth and unmarred. Even the horrible bruise had vanished. Gabriella stared in open astonishment, marveling at the work she had done.

Destiny Unveiled Excerpt:
After collecting the offering from his followers, the leader returned to the center of the circle and the waiting initiate. With one quick motion, he sliced open his own palm. He held his hand over the cup, letting his blood drip slowly into the chalice, until the wound miraculously healed before Darron's startled eyes. When the chalice was full, he carried it to the eager initiate who took the cup firmly into his hands and tilted it towards his lips.
"As this blood makes you one with our flesh, so your soul follows to become one with the darkness," the English voice intoned.
As the initiate drained the last of the liquid in the chalice, his hood fell away, revealing a blonde ponytail pulled back over a pale white face, made even paler by the outline of bright red blood around his lips. Darron watched in stunned, horrified silence as his own face turned to meet his gaze. Eyes turned as black as coals stared back at Darron with a grim smile of satisfaction.
"Rise Darron," the leader commanded. And as he spoke, he lifted the hood from his head. Rise brother of the Dark Coven."

When did you start writing and when did you finish your first book?
I started my first YA novel when I was 13 and finished it when I was 15.
Where do you get your inspiration?
Sometimes from dreams, sometimes from the people around me.
Do you plot and outline or do you just write?  Plotter or Pantser?
I am a little of both. I plot out the beginning and the end, but when it comes to the middle, I completely wing it.
Can you tell us a little about the process of getting your first book published?
It sort of happened by accident. I was reviewing a kid’s book on my mom blog and started chatting with the publisher. She asked to read my book and offered me a contact the next day.
What book have you most recently released?
My newest release is a YA thriller called Player that I wrote when I was 16!
What was your favorite part of the book?
I love when Gabriella finally embraces her magick because it’s an important lesson in self-appetence.
Rate your story in terms steaminess?
There is a little vanilla romance, but since this is a YA series, it doesn’t get very intense.
Do you have another book in the works?
I am currently working on the sequel to YA thriller Phantom, inspired by Sweeney Todd. When that one if finished, I plan to finish up the dark musicals trilogy a third book inspired by Jekyll & Hyde.
What advice would you give new authors? What have you learned about the business?
Learn to take criticism and use it to improve your work. This is a harsh business at times, and I have gotten some rejections that made me want to cry. But when I really listened to what they were saying, I could see where my work needed improvement, and it’s made me a better writer, which has subsequently led to me getting published.
Boxers or Briefs? Briefs
Pizza or hamburger? Pizza
Beer, Wine, or mixed drink?  I don’t drink.
If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Would you write or read there, or do something else? Ireland! I have always dreamed of going there. I would probably spend a lot of time writing
