What is it about Romance that draws you in?
It is that first spark between the hero and heroine?
The journey of the relationship?
Is it the passionate lovemaking?
The Happily Ever After?
For me it's the journey and the feeling that they are mean to be together no matter what. I want the hero and heroine to overcome whatever problems arise. I want to feel their success through the crisis as their relationship grows stronger. The trust that is slowly built between them is the most important part of the romance for me. If I don't really feel their connection to each other, I feel so disappointed.

Those are great authors! Thanks for sharing!
DeleteI love happy endings and fairy tales. A few years ago I realized that romance novels are adult fairy tales and I'm proud of it. My favorite authors are Annabel Joseph, Maya Banks, Lauren Dane... the list goes on and on.
ReplyDeleteI like that! Adult fairytales.....
DeleteI love romance because of all the feels I experience as I journey with the hero and heroine on their search for their HEA! I have so many favorite authors but right now I am totally fanning over Koko Brown and Eve Langlais!

ReplyDeleteThe escape is a big part of reading, I think. :-)
DeleteGreat prizes/ blog hop.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm a sucker for old fashioned chivalry. When a hero will do anything to protect his heroine and vice versa (without making him look weak and pathetic of course!) ;O)
Gotta love an old fashioned hero!
DeleteI'm also a sucker for HEA. And chivalry, I second Madeleine's point about that too.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of Monique DeVere's books.
celestejones215 at rocketmail dot com.
I'll have to look up DeVere. I've never read her. Thanks!
DeleteI'm so excited to see everyone sharing their favorite authors and what they like about romance! Keep it coming everyone!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree about the journey being the best part. I want my heart to beat like the heroine's as she (and I) fall in love with the hero. I want to experience their joy and sometimes their heartbreak as they struggle to get past the conflicts or obstacles which seem to be insurmountable. And of course I want them to have a happy ending!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any particular favourites, but the best romances I have read recently are by Joanne Stewart and Lynette Sofras.
paulamartinromances(at)gmail.com
I like the journey as well. There is nothing better than connecting with two characters and watching their relationship fly. I love being able to fade away and "be" in their stories for a little while. One of my favorite author's is Monica McCarty. I am a huge paranormal romance fan but I also have a soft spot for the Highlands. katiewhite0410@gmail.com

I love the journey and the HEA. Not everyone gets that all encompassing love of their life moments. Or we are so comfortable in our relationships that we don't get those heart stopping big sigh moments. Books bring that back.

Why I like Romance Novels….The reason I like Romance Novels so much is because it is one place where I can be anywhere like England, Scotland, Rome, Ireland, or anywhere in the US. I can also be in any time like 1200’s Scotland, 1500’s England, 1900’s Chicago. I can be anyone like a princess, a servant, a werewolf, a duchess, a vampire, or a lost soul. But no matter what I get the privilege and the experience to overcome many different obstacles and find love. I am a mother of three teenagers as well and there are many days when I need an escape and my heart needs a rest from the trials of being a parent and trying to do what is best for everyone but yourself. I have overcome cancer, loss, and financial problems and Romance Books let my heart soar and feel free. Let me tell you in this world, and during this time where life can have so many struggles it is great that you can be, have, and do so many things to find love and romance and still be yourself!
ReplyDeleteangelheart618@gmail.com
Laurann Dohner is one of my favorite authors
I like to read romance because when I read a great romance story it doesn't only end up in my keeper shelf, but it stays with me for a long time, and if I start to forget I can always reread the story.
ReplyDeletejmesparza821(at)gmail(dot)com
I like romance novels because, I would rather be hot and bothered from a romance then crying my eyes out because someone died in a different genre.
ReplyDeleteKresly Cole and Gena Showalter are a couple of my favs.
